#TransformationSeries2017 #YesBank. Social Media is a boon if it is socially responsible, unbiased, non-political, informative and educative to the masses but not to a class alone. But, it is a curse if it carries information or coverage to sensationalize, create curiosity among the public, misrepresentation of facts at the cost of someone’s reputation.

Yes, in a fast moving and constantly changing world, social media provides people the best platform to stay connected. No matter how far two people are geographically, social media with its array of features be it the moment sharing on Instagram, video calling on FB, tweeting to each other via Twitter or sharing private moments via Snapchat, social media has transformed lives digitally

#YesBank #TransformationSeries2017. Social media has made it possible for like minded individuals to discuss important topics, widen their personal knowledge and discover things they never knew before. For example, young people around the world are now more involved than ever in their country’s politics. The last Lok Sabha election and states elections are proof of that. Social media has contributed to that increase in a big way.

Social media has a lot of benefits for the society in terms of education. It is very easy to educate from others who are experts and professionals via the social media. You can educate yourself, without paying for it. #TransformationSeries2017 #YesBank

Our time is being shorter by work and family commitments. But social networking sites offer a chance to communicate in a speedy and efficient manner to our friends, loved ones and even customers (for business entities like banks). #TransformationSeries2017#YesBank.

Social media is actually increasing distance between people. What happens most often is group of people sitting together and socializing on social networking sites. It has actually increased the distance between people. In disguise of connecting people it is weakening the existing bonds between people and in doing so has exposed concerns related to privacy.

The main purpose of the so called social media is to connect the people around the world so that they can be aware of the different activities going around the world, instead of just posting some picture or updating status. We have forgotten the way of what it's called "living the current moment to its fullest".More preference is given to those who are virtually present instead of the real ones. After a particular threshold things start getting worst and many people are suffering with the same.

In 2015, I was just going through the Facebook and suddenly two names popped up in my mind. Both were my childhood friends name. I searched them and fortunately, was able to find one of them. After adding both, we decided to meet. Let me tell you, we met after almost 15 years. Yes, that’s where I got benefitted from the social networking site. Now, imagine without the site, how difficult it would have been to find both of them. I would say yes, social networking does help us in connecting people.#JBIMS#hack

It actually depends on the individual who is using it. It does not make any sense if he or she is not talking to people sitting beside, but tagging same person in the post on social media. This, I would say, not the way how social media should be used. On the other hand, if it is being used for some productive thing like creating awareness or promoting any event, that way social media is the best thing for connecting. Also if a person is unnecessarily posting every single detail from his or her life, in my opinion, that would tend to become disconnecting rather than connecting through social media. #JBIMS

It is connecting people but I am not sure to what extent that connection works..to me it seems temporary and hollow and I cannot relate it to something real or substantial in life..so to sum it up social media is connecting people but not in a meaningful way

The social media has created an environment where people want to be in the limelight amongst all the happenings. The inner self has taken a back seat and a fake face has taken it place. The constant need to project living a glamorous life has taken the mental satisfaction of living the moments. The emphasis is more on capturing the moments rather than experiencing them. I feel the social media just connects the accounts and profiles, not the true person behind that profile#jbims

Yes Social media has connected people to a huge extent. But I would say it's connecting people only digitally. People are spending 2 hrs( may be greater than that) per day on Social Media (SM). People spend on SM time to send messages, share pics etc. It seems like people all around world are just in front of us in the form of digital screen. We can have voice call, video call on SM. People are making use of SM very nicely if we ignore misuse. SM has provided platform for online market, analysis, polling and many more thing.

I would say it is and it's not! When you want to take out a moment out on mother's day to say out loud to everyone how blessed you feel, with the "best-mother-on-the-earth" caption, or share the continental cuisine you're having at a lavish restaurant, social media would definitely come in handy, to connect and share with your social circle. But, if you didn't go and hug your mother on the special day because you were too busy capturing a "post-worthy" selfie which she innocently smiled for but didn't know anything about, you're being enslaved by "like-lust" of social media!

Social media started as a place to connect with friends and build better relationships in an easy and convenient way. With that, we can reach out to greater audience and voice our opinions and concerns. But getting addicted to it, can greatly reduce our productivity. So it depends on our perspective and how we perceive it.#JBIMS #Hack

Now that's the hack!! It's is indeed connecting people, for some virtually and for some it's real. We should learn this strategy from our parents who are so elated when they see some of their old friends on social media cause they really want to built and maintain the connections. #JBIMS #HACK

Social media has created a paradigm shift in the way people communicate with each other. Obviously, it has widened the horizon and also broken the shackles of boundaries. But , it has made a man addicted to his smartphone. He becomes restless without a smartphone around him. It has made the communication with people around him limited !! #JBIMS #HACK

#jbims #hack Yes, social media is connecting people who are acquaintances online and those who may be far away from each other. But, it is also making people sitting next to each other distant. For example, in most families, people are using their phones to access social media rather than to talk with each other.

#jbims #hack Everyone like gaining traffic or attention through social media. Social media has also changed the timing of marketing campaigns as Yes Bank doing today in India. Social media and social networking seem to play an imperative part of peoples lives around the world.Social media is changing the way we communicate and the way we are perceived, both positively and negatively. Every time you post a photo, or update your status, you are contributing to your own digital footprint and personal brand.

Social media is a tool of many uses. It has facilitated our lives in different ways, it has connected people with their friends whom they thought were gone forever and they would never meet again, talk again. It has given certain set of people a chance to find their love interests as well. It has empowered common man, it is a vital tool for mass communication. Just a 140 character tweet can create such huge impact. However, with all the benefits shines the other side of the coin. There have been cases of misuses. People tend to write their views without knowing that they are hurting sentiments of others. It has also clogged people from becoming outgoing. They stick to their smart phones and other gadgets.

Yes social media has brought the world closer then ever before. I am pursing my MBA and I am 24 years old and yesterday night I got to talk to one of my friend whom I haven't seen in all these years . We felt connected and closet then ever before . All thanks to the social media. With my busy schedule and classes , it suits as the best means to contact my friends along the way without much hastle and with lot of ease. I am sure my friends also believe the same.

Thinking in a way of the present generation, YES. Social Media does help in connecting people who are far away but it is also separating the people nearer to the user. The users are pretty busy in maintaining relationships with their online friends that they are about to forget about the friends or family with them. Social media does help in sharing information whether it is right or wrong. While extracting information from social media one must research whether it is true or false and must be in contact with the people around him too.

SocialMedia isthereto facilitate the creation and sharing of information, ideas and expressions via networks and virtual communities. But its most profound effect - moving people into solitude and creating fake impression about their life hiding their miseries. People are on both sides of argument - but it falls down to every individual user that how much she/he is alienating himself/herself from reality and living on social media. The needofthehour- to understand that being present in present is more important than being present on any social platform.

Social media is revolutionising the way we were connected. Now it is not just mere our school, college we are connected it is widening our parochial circle as in noway before. Our voice is spreading with ease. But now it is connected more emotionally rather than objectively.Fakeness has increased through platform of social media thereby falsily connecting people.Aiding for a more post truth world.

The sense of connectedness with the real as well as the virtual community, an effective tool to market your product (profit or nonprofit), ease of sharing feelings quickly with millions, etc. are some positive things that can be attributed to the social media. The same social media also cause cyber bullying, online harassment, trolling, etc. The links have also been found between excessive use of social media and depression. Yes, wise use of social media connects people in the real sense but an insane use of the same can cause many social problems.

By the medium of social media, world is connecting emotionally rather than objectively. It has it's pros and cons.A voice against evil can be raised more triumphly while emotions raised by fake stories can be spread with ease.According to me, it is advancing our post truth world extravagantly .Truth can be manipulated by posts and thereby connecting people to a wrong cause which ironically suggests that people are not connected.

Well, I would like to say yes. Time taken to flow of information if definitely towards the growth. But, we have to accept that falseness of also spreading as fast as truthness. We can relate well with the brexit and Trump events. Also the with the threat of social media in any agitation. But we can surly say that the people are connected across the globe with social media to move the world faster.

I don't think The social Media is really connecting people. In Real Life, People just login to Social Media to see what is happening in their life and Compair his Life with them. Not to help them in severe condition. Even A guy cannot tell his problems and sadness on Social media. Social media cannot take feelings of people. It can just take likes. So, For today's generation , Social Media is main unsocial thing growing in our society.

A definite Yea or No would be difficult to say. On one hand and on the positive side, it has given us the platform to connect with the oldies and new people and helps discuss various issues and can create huge impact with a single post. On the other side, Social media has given the virtual connect and actual connect has somehow lost its meaning.

Social media is a mere facilitator of creation and sharing of information, ideas and other emotions. Humans, from religious leaders to social gadflies, have always expressed their ideas. But social medias made sharing so easier that we tend to over-share and fail to listen - which disconnects people. Nevertheless social media sites and more importantly discussion forums like Reddit and image boards such as 4chan have played such an important role in connecting people. These enables people share with such a freedom which would have otherwise made OPs face unfair trials just like the Socrates did. ????????????

Certainly use of Cyber technology is reducing Love & affection among the people ,particularly Indian society. No doubt technology is essential for development of nation but we can't ignore the society. In other words we can say that society & technology must developed with same speed to uplift the human life in world.Today in developed countries specially in Western world they are more emphasising on use of technology ,that will helpful in environment protection. Now question arises now, why they are thinking about environment protection ? answer is simple that peoples interaction is essential to solve this type of issues in our society

Not exactly. It is connecting people that are at a physical distance from each other but distancing people that are near by. The idea of meetups is now Orthodox as video calls have taken the lead. Even if friends do meet up, they are all busy on their phones that have brought social life on to their fingertips. The 'personal' from 'personal interaction' is long lost and all that remains now is the cyber world. We are in a world where likes and comments are used as a parameter to judge love and affection. #SCMHRD #HACK

Yes, social media is connectiong people. It has become a medium for people to stay connected which was not possible before to such extent as seen today. Social media platforms give opportunity to people to know about their friends, relatives in an instant, the story feature being an example of such a tool. Such tools/features help the people to gain an insight into the life of others, in other words it help them to stay connected. #SCMHRD #hack

In many extends yes but in the bigger picture people are just going far away from each other. It is just about showing how happy you are whereas maybe deep down you are not and also at the same time have no idea what the other person is going through. This constant urge to stay updated in these virtual worlds makes us completely unaware of what is going around. We are forgetting to stop and take a look around to appreciate the things we have. The little things that makes us happy. Though it is connecting a lot.

No,social media is not connecting people in real sense. Rather social media disconnect us from the real world. People post their pictures or status to seek approbation. Instead of enjoying vacation with family and friends they are busy taking selfies or group photo. The meaning and purpose of vacation is lost now-a-days. Social media is also reducing personal interactions. Everything is superficial and hollow on social media. #SCMHRD #HACK

Social media has opened doors where people saw walls before and now they are just walking to and fro knowingly or unknowingly. Some of the reasons being wanting to build a network, looking for entertainment and latest trends and technologies, keeping track of the who's who, or just laying back and observing others. Social media has made lives more stressful and unnecessarily hectic such that to keep up with the fast pace world everyone is connected to others but fail to understand their own self. The connection with self is what social media taking us away from. #SCMHRD #HACK

In today's fast-pacing society, social-media platforms connects not only dear ones who are not near, but also "real" virtual ones. Seeing and talking to your loved ones across opposite ends of the planet is a touch away. Creation of relationships for a life-long journey is abundant over social media. It has inculcated hope, courage, building senses of strength, generating immense positivity, helping the human race to act as ONE during crisis periods. Celebrity-Fan connections are not just dreams. Fame is just a click away. Social awareness has become wide spread like never before showing power of social media. #SCMHRD #HACK

No, Social media is not connecting people in the real sense. What we actually see is a morphed image of people pretending to be connected. No doubt that people have embraced social media with full valor but the cons certainly outweigh the pros. People to people contact has drastically reduced and more and more people have started relying on various social media platforms to convey their thoughts. Personal touch which was the essence of relationships in the past is often lacking these days and it is the absence the personal touch which makes social media a bane. #SCMHRD #Hack

Yes, social media is really connecting people and is improving the way of connecting each and every aspect of individual. Facebook, Instagram, Twitter are the ways nowadays people express their feelings and social media has changed the perspective of communication what it used to be in earlier days. Social media has also helped professionals to connect and explore the business opportunities. People are one click away from us to interact and that helped this world to connect and behave as one family. As we HRDians rightly say "Vasudhaiv Kutumbakam" - The World is one family. #Hack #SCMHRD

Yes, I think Through social media, users can communicate to each other. At the same time, they can communicate with sharing pictures or images or voice messages. These social networking sites are used in the whole world because of their benefits. Communication is the main advantage of it. Users can also express their views and feelings. Users may also take out their talent by participating in various different contests or activities.

No doubt that Social Media has revolutionized communication. This revolution has groomed the personal and professional life of people. Social Media has helped people to connect to most eminent personalities in the world. And have forced people to go out of their comfort zone and reach out to people for their own good. It is beneficial in terms of seeking mentorship and guidance. But there's a time and place to use the platform. In the end it all boils to individuals perspective. #hack #scmhrd

In an intetview,in group discussion round an interviewer gave a topic "social media".One guy started with "SOCIAL MEDIA" and ended discussion with "SOCIAL MEDIA", everyone followed him in the same way starting word SOCIAL MEDIA ending word SOCIAL MEDIA,in between there are few words"FACEBOOK,WATSAPP,YOUTUBE..."There are some people (youth)those who don't know what social media exactly does,do,done, will do.I am not criticising or something else, just trying to create some awareness about media in people, atleast from now please know what media is doing.Coming to "connectivity"- They are doing their work well, because of them lot many news(many) we are able to know but lack of connection with people, not everywhere ,somewhere. From our side we have to encourage them and at the sametime we expect some more quick effort from them to everyone's reallife, hoping it will happen......

Social media has helped people connect greatly. A recent example being playing an instrumental role in aiding the rescue efforts during the floods in Tamilnadu. It helped people direct the resources to the places of need, quickly and reduced the losses momentously. It can be used to bring together people who want to achieve a common goal. Organisations such as Global Citizen utilize social media to create awareness about world’s challenges and have created a community committed to social change using the same. #Hack #IIMB

While there has been a lot of talk over how the social media has become a proxy for "real" interaction and is something that shouldn't be encouraged, there is no running away from the fact that social media has actually come as an innovative way to connect with people you know & also those with whom you want to connect. This has not only transformed the way people interact nowadays but has also made it easier and more accessible for the common good. #Hack #IIMB
